I had an otherwise awful day today (lost my gloves, car wouldn't start either at lunch or after work, etc.), but my time in the studio tonight was a good thing.
I held true to my hope of spending time with the mandolin tonight, starting to feel my way through a few basic chords, and putting them to use by working on "Little Mountain Church House" by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The chords were easy enough (I figured them out on guitar first), but it was getting them underneath my fingers that proved a bit more difficult. I made some good progress, though, so I'll take that as a win and still have something to work on tomorrow.
Tonight was exactly what I needed it to be.
