I had every intention of getting into the studio tonight and continuing with the work I had started last night. Though I got in there on the late side tonight, I had started to go in that direction, when I got sidetracked by something on social media that took me in a completely different direction for tonight's playing...
Apparently, the Winter Dance Party began on January 20th, 1959. Little did they know it then, but Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP Richardson (aka The Big Bopper), had just two weeks to live on this night fifty seven years ago...
Naturally, seeing that sent me down the Buddy Holly rabbit hole, and I spent the night, and what will likely stretch into some of tomorrow, playing "Maybe Baby," and "It's So Easy," and "Rave On," among other things.
I'll get back to the other stuff tomorrow, but tonight was a good night of classic rock & roll.
