So, the fact that I haven't done as well as I'd hoped with my songwriting during the first two months of the year really bums me out. In thinking it over the last few days, something dawns on me. I was writing more (songs, fiction, etc). when I made it a habit to carry a notebook with me absolutely everywhere.
Somewhere along the line, that practice has gotten tossed aside, which is very much unlike me. I think one of my goals in March is going to be carrying a notebook again. It can't be anything too big, but I've never been able to write effectively with those tiny little mini-notebooks that everyone seems to be so enamored with. I'll try and find something within the first week of the month that will serve my purposes, and get going with jotting stuff down again. It's a part of my process that I've really missed.
Also, one of these days I really need to take some time to sit and listen for more than half an hour at a time. Been missing that a lot lately, too.
