So, remember the end of yesterday's post, when I said that I'd sit down today and find a way to make it all make at least a little bit of sense?
Well, I did it! With a little bit of advice on tempo from the Mrs., I was able to nail down a verse progression that I like. I messed around a bit after that, but I'm still not 100% sure which direction the chorus is going to wind up headed in, though. Hopefully I'll have at least a bit of time tomorrow to try and solve that mystery.
Otherwise, I read an article on The Section today in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. They were the backup band behind lots of the 70's singer/songwriter stuff in California. Carole King, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, etc.
Also of note, super-producer Phil Ramone, who produced records for Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, and countless others, has passed away at 72. He's also credited with helping to popularize the compact disc, among other things.
It's so strange to be living in an era when we're losing all these legends... makes you wonder who will fill their shoes.
