Today started off like all of the other days this week: stealing a few moments before getting ready for work to read the Grohl biography and listen to a bit of music. It was an Alkaline Trio sort of day, and as much as I'd love to be able to convince myself that it's in preparation/excitement for their new record on the 2nd of April, this week I think it's more closely related to stress. The trio is always the band that I turn to when things are a bit frazzled, because the music is loud and fast and dark and it fits where my head is at.
This week, while great chunks of it have been a lot of fun, there just hasn't been any time at home to recharge the batteries, or really to focus on much music stuff. There's a part of me that doesn't see that changing until Saturday night at the earliest, and there's a part of me that's hoping for a bit of time tomorrow night. What I'd like to get done, or worked on at the very least, is:
1) Finish This Is A Call
2) Work on my progression for the March song-in-a-month
3) Dig out the transcription for, and start to figure out Fur Elise.
4) Sit in the dark and listen to something, anything, on vinyl.
Writing it all out tonight, it doesn't look like much... we'll see how much time I actually have tomorrow.
