I got the verses blocked out tonight for my January "song-in-a-month!"
It's a fairly simple chord progression, but hey, I've got to start somewhere, and I figured why not start with something as a confidence builder?
I'm still trying to hash out the chorus progression, however. I've got a couple of different options so far, I'm just not sure which way to go with it. I'm trying very hard not to over-think it, thereby one-upping myself and stalling out.
Oh! And I can hear the bass line in my head... for the verse section, anyway. I've got this feeling that, were I to get smart and just sit down with my bass (or even the bass strings of my electric), I could figure out which way the chorus is supposed to turn. That will likely be tomorrow's project. Still unsure what to do about the rest of the rhythm part for it, but I know enough to program a basic drum track at the very least. And I'm smart enough to find a tempo before I do any serious recording.
Then there's the lyrics... but I'll get to that in another post.
