Had the afternoon off today. Went into Sioux City with the Mrs. and did some shopping. Picked up two records along the way:
1) The Lone Bellow's self-titled debut record
and
2) The World From The Side Of The Moon - Phillip Phillips
The P.P. record is the first thing I have ever purchased by an American Idol contestant (let alone winner), and while it sounds very distinctly Mumford & Sons, it's a lot better of a listen than I was expecting.
The Lone Bellow disc is as good as the world has been claiming it would be. Definitely the best thing I've heard in recent months.
More (and better) reviews of both discs will follow at some point.
Not really any work to speak of on the song today. The afternoon away saw to that. Hopefully tomorrow will afford at least a bit of time for that.
