Tonight was interesting. I watched a 90 minute documentary on MTV about Ed Sheeran. About three quarters of the way through, he tells a story about meeting Damien Rice in a pub when he was 14, and how that five minute conversation essentially changed his life, and put him on the path he's been on for the last decade. It was arguably the coolest moment in a pretty great documentary.
I had never really sat down and considered the similarities between the two, but it was an interesting point, and brought me back around to Damien Rice again. Oh, what I wouldn't give for another Damien Rice record.
When I finally hit the studio tonight, I went for acoustic stuff as opposed to the Strat. Tomorrow is the first (and only) full day off that I'll have before next weekend. It's going to be a big day for me, I hope. Lots of acoustic work, lots of electric. I don't even know what it is I want to work on tomorrow, just that I want to spend as much of the day as possible working on music.
Strange day today, in the end, I guess.
