So, it's definitely going to be a summer of acoustic improvement and lead playing.
Not sure where that decision came from today, but it popped into my head at work, and it feels like a final decision. There will be other stuff that will come up, I'm sure, but the main focuses this summer will be on those two areas of my playing.
Now that I say that, I have been thinking about classic solos (and songs) a lot of late, while at the same time thinking about the songs and solos that made me want to pick up a guitar in the first place, not to mention all of the things that have kept the fire burning all these years. I want/need to be good enough to play all of those things.
I also want to be able to sit outside this summer and play some acoustic, so I've got to learn enough songs/work on that side of my playing as well.
Didn't start digging through backing tracks yet, but I did spend some time tonight working through some lead stuff. I'm really feeling more relaxed the more I run through scales and riffs. It's going to be a good summer.
