After not getting much of anything accomplished in the studio yesterday, I wanted to get in there tonight and at least make sense of how I want the weekend to go.
Having taken a night "off," essentially, I felt like my fingers were in pretty good shape. There was a fluidity to my playing tonight that was really encouraging, and I feel like every time I sit down to lay, the patterns and the scales come a little bit easier than they did previously. I know I've over used the "another piece to the puzzle" analogy recently, but I really do feel like it gets a little bit easier every time.
So, even if tonight was a small piece of the puzzle, it was still good to make a start on the weekend. Tomorrow and Sunday will be when the real work gets done, though.
