Sometimes, in order to take time for something, you need to make time for it. That's what I did tonight, staying up a bit later in order to have some time with a guitar in my hands.
As I walked out the door today, I was running notes in my head for pentatonic scales, from the low end of the neck all the way up to the top. Somehow, then, it seemed fitting that I end the day by actually sitting with a guitar and running the scales.
I find myself thinking about scales patterns a lot during the course of my day. More lately than ever before.
I get that this is an odd thing to admit, but there you have it.
All told, there was listening today in the car, but the best part of my day, musically, was sitting at the end of the day, even for 25 minutes, with a guitar in my hands, focused on improving my musical situation.
More practicing tomorrow, and more time involved.
