I snagged the new issue of Guitar World today. SL and I went into Sioux City this afternoon for a bit, and I stopped in at their B&N to look around. The new issue has a huge article with Billie Joe Armstrong on the making of their three (that's right, three) new records that are coming out over the next four months. I read part of it while I was waiting for SL to finish up shopping, and can't wait for tomorrow to finish it off.
Tomorrow actually looks wide open for me, which is exciting, because it will give me a chance to catch up on a lot of the playing that has been sorely lacking this week. Time, for whatever reason, has been hard to find the last few days.
Besides, I finalized the wording for my lesson ad today. While it won't make it down to the paper until Monday, having it done is further incentive for me to really step up my playing. Being comfortable with where I'm at teaching kids who I know are way behind me in skill level is one thing, trusting that someone who walks in off the street will be behind me in skill level is another thing entirely.
Yes sir, it's time for me to kick it into high gear.
