Lots of listening today. Most of it classic sixties soul. Somehow Sam Cooke just fit perfectly this afternoon.
Cranked up the electric for a little while this afternoon, and worked for a bit on my self-imposed Dave Grohl Challenge. Made a decision on music for one song, and started to get some chorus ideas for it too, so that's cool.
Didn't do enough focused practicing, which is annoying. Hardly any of it, if you want the unbridled truth. It was the great failing of my day.
Haven't started putting together folders for the new students that are starting this next week. That has GOT to get done tomorrow.
What I did do, if only briefly, was to start diving into a bit of studying. If I'm going to treat this like a job, punch a clock, track my time better, or whatever, then I need to start from the first page of the binder I started putting together earlier in the year. Which means that I'm starting with the criteria from the Berklee App. that I printed off ten years ago. It's time to take that, and just work it all the way through from top to bottom.
Truthfully, it's probably been time for that for a while now.
