Having not really sat down to write in quite some time, I spent a little bit of time tonight paging through a few of my books on songwriting in search of inspiration. Considering what I am working with in terms of the EP, I focused mainly on a book that pays attention to the idea of song structure, and connecting smaller chord progressions in order to create larger ones. I want to do some more reading tomorrow, but getting started on that book was a reassuring experience.
I spent a few minutes with the Hendrix tonight as well, although not as many as I probably should have. That needs to be a primary goal for tomorrow as well.
It wasn't a bad night, all things considered, but I still feel like both last night and tonight were opportunities for me to get more done than I did. Tomorrow needs to make up for lost time.
