Today was the first day that it really felt like we were home from Chicago.
I got back into the studio for a decent amount of time, really for the first time since we got back, and it was wonderful. I spent more time with the acoustic today than I did the electric, which surprised me somewhat. I'm trying to get back into the flow of working on songs, and no matter what instrument I find an idea on, that process always seems to come back to the acoustic guitar.
The other thing I did today was a bit of comparison listening. While we were in Chicago, I had picked up Hope by Manchester Orchestra. It's (as I think I mentioned the other day), a more stripped-down, acoustic version of Cope, their previous record. As someone who is frequently pulled between the louder, more aggressive world of the electric guitar, and the quieter, more personal tone of the acoustic, it was fun to listen and compare the two versions of these recordings.
I didn't do much of anything theory related today, but for a busier than expected day off, I felt like today was a success.
