Tonight was a good night in the studio. I picked up the acoustic, opened up a couple of notebooks (one with my setlist possibilities, and the other with the songs I've been figuring out off of CD), and sat down to try and work through a few of them.
I wound up working through a couple of songs that I had taken a pass at last year sometime, but had neglected to write down at the time. "Codeine," by Jason Isbell, and "Million Dollar Bill," by Middle Brother, now have a place in my notebook of stuff I've figured out, as does the start of "This Losing" by The Airborne Toxic Event.
I'm really enjoying figuring out all of these songs this week. And as an added bonus, the weather is finally getting nice enough that, when I work out my vocals on these songs, I can sit outside and play. For some reason, I'm terribly excited to get a chance to do that this summer.
Today was good. Hopefully tomorrow is as well.
