Quiet day today for me, musically. We're in the DSM for the weekend, which takes me away from my studio for a day and a half. Not a big deal, really, but I didn't have time to really play at all before we left today, and now it's almost 10, and I'm really missing it.
That said, there have been a few articles and interviews that have caught my eye this week that haven't made it into the blog because I've been actually getting my own work done. Both tie in with Nirvana, and one of the two ties in with Counting Crows.
The first is Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic reminiscing about the recording and 20th Anniversary edition of In Utero that are coming out this fall. It's a 40 minute interview, but it's totally worth the listen. Here's the link to the interview:

The other article was from Grantland, and compares In Utero with August & Everything After, released a week before Nirvana's final studio record. A really cool article that draws some big comparisons, and makes some bold statements. A fascinating read by a guy who got his start in music journalism by writing for the newspaper in my hometown. Here's the link for that:

Planning on a B&N stop tomorrow before we leave town, so any musical discoveries will be brought up in tomorrow's post, along with whatever other musical fun happens along the way.
